Install with care.
A fixture is only as good as the connection behind it. We install the valve, the supply and the seal properly, and leave the access that makes the next service call short.
The part nobody sees
Most fixture callbacks are not the fixture. They are a supply line that was reused, a shutoff that was already seized and got turned anyway, a wax ring set on an out-of-level flange, or a trap arm at the wrong fall. Replacing the shutoff and the supply as a matter of course costs very little and removes most of the reasons to come back.
On a tiled shower the valve depth and the escutcheon have to be right before the tile goes on. Getting that call wrong is a tiling bill, not a plumbing one, so it is worth a conversation before the wall closes.
Bringing your own fixture
Very welcome, and often the sensible way to buy. Two requests: have it on site before the appointment, and keep the box until the water is on. Missing cartridges and wrong-rough-in toilets are discovered at the moment of installation, and a return is far easier with the packaging.
We will say plainly if a fixture is one we have seen fail. That is information, not a sales pitch — you are free to install it anyway and we will do a proper job of it.
Accessibility and aging in place
Lever handles, comfort-height toilets, thermostatic mixing valves and properly blocked grab-bar backing are small items during a remodel and expensive retrofits afterwards. If anyone in the house is likely to want them within a decade, the time to install the backing is while the wall is open.
Where we do this
Fixtures across Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, University Place, Federal Way and the surrounding South Sound.
Common questions
Will you install a faucet I bought myself?
Yes. Have it on site before we arrive and keep the packaging until the water is on and tested, in case anything has to go back.
My toilet rocks slightly. Does it matter?
Yes. Movement breaks the wax seal, and a seal that weeps under a toilet does its damage into the floor where you cannot see it. It is usually shims and a fresh seal rather than anything major.
Can you move a fixture to a new position?
Often, but it depends on the drain. Supply is comparatively easy to re-route; waste needs fall, venting and access to the joists below. We will tell you quickly whether a move is a modest job or a floor-up one.
