Plumbing in Puyallup.
New-build South Hill alongside a historic downtown. Here is what that means when something goes wrong, and what we look at first.
What the housing stock means here
Puyallup is really two jobs. Downtown and the older streets around it have the same pre-war stock and side-sewer questions as central Tacoma. South Hill and Sunrise are two decades of newer construction where the systems are sound and the calls are fixtures, pressure regulators and water heaters reaching the end of a first life.
The valley’s water table matters here too: sump pumps and drainage tie-ins are a routine part of the conversation on the low ground in a way they simply are not up the hill.

What we look at first here
Downtown, the same questions as older Tacoma. Up the hill, the first look is at the pressure-reducing valve and the expansion tank, because a twenty-year-old build tends to fail those before anything else, and both present as symptoms that look considerably more expensive than they are.
None of that is a rule — every house is its own argument — but it is where the odds are, and starting where the odds are is what keeps a diagnostic visit to one visit.

Common questions
Do you charge extra to come out to Puyallup?
No. Puyallup is inside our normal service area and the service call rate is the same as it is in Tacoma.
How quickly can you get to Puyallup?
For an active leak or a total loss of water, same day wherever we can. Routine work is normally within two to three business days, and we will give you a real window rather than an all-day one.
